Grace Communion International Canada is separately incorporated from its parent denomination, which has its headquarters in Glendora, California, USA. As such, it has its own board. The National Director serves as the CEO, and reports to the Canadian board, which is accountable for ensuring that the affairs of the church in Canada are conducted ethically, legally, and according to sound, generally accepted business and accounting practices.

As Grace Communion International is episcopal in its governance, the National Director also serves as national ministry leader, and reports to the denominational president for ecclesiastical matters. For example, the doctrinal positions of the denomination are established and maintained at our world headquarters, and the National Director is accountable directly to the President of Grace Communion International for assuring that those doctrinal positions are upheld by the denomination in Canada.

These complementary accountabilities – to the board here in Canada, and to the parent denomination – work together to both support, encourage, and guide the church and its leaders toward the greater goal of promoting the mission of our triune God in a way that brings glory to his name.
